On the 3rd day of the 1st Month of 1892, the enthronement ceremony of the Qubilgan of the Eighth Panchen Erdeni was held at Tashilhunpo Monastery. The Qubilgan, therefore, took the throne as the Ninth Panchen Erdeni. Emperor Guangxu bestowed upon him 10,000 taels of silver and ordered the Amban Shengtai to oversee the ceremony.
